Last October I had a kitchen fire which set off the sprinkler system. There was extensive water damage throughout the entire first floor. I was overwhelmed by all the work that was required. The job required replacing all the flooring in the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and laundry room. Also repairing some of the plaster/dry wall; painting all the walls and ceilings; and replacing and painting all the baseboards. After interviewing two general contractors, neither of whom I felt confident with, I had the good fortune to being introduced to Jim Mackillop. He laid out in great detail the order of the work, and how much it would cost. He answered every question I asked. He has a great crew working for him. They showed up as scheduled and always on time. Jim supervised all the details and performed a lot of the work alongside his crew. Before they left every day they cleaned up, removing debris, sweeping the floors, and putting everything back in place. A major help was Jim found me a flooring company that provided all the laminate and other materials at a price $2,200 less than what a local store had quoted me for the exact same materials. That was beyond great, and demonstrates Jim’s desire to do the best for his customers. In the near future I expect to redo the upstairs of my home, and Jim will be the general contractor on that job. He is the only one I would consider. I have already recommended Jim to two of my neighbors, who were also very satisfied in the job he did for them.
